Calling All 103.1 WVVX And Scott Loftus Fans Everywhere!!!

Well, I promised that I was getting back to blogging so here's a new post to chew on. In 2007, almost 3 years ago, I created a blog post where I described 103.1 WVVX in Chicago as I remembered it. I wrote about Scott Loftus and all the stations I remembered him being on. Since I wrote that blog post, it has become the most popular blog post on my blog at Wordpress.com. It currently has 88 comments that the fans of Scott Loftus and the station have left. It's been almost 3 years since I wrote that blog post and now I feel I should follow up and write some more. First, I would like to thank all of the people who have left comments. This is a personal blog of mine and I feel like it has become a destination on the internet for WVVX fans which makes me feel like I have created something special. Next, I would also like to thank Scott's family for updating the fans and also for setting the record straight about the rumor of his death, provided everyone is who they say they are. I invite Scott or his family to keep us, the fans, updated. I also invite you, the fans, to continue to share your memories of WVVX and Scott Loftus. I would also invite you to post any recordings you may have of WVVX or Scott Loftus, like CDK did, although I personally did not get a chance to listen to it. Does anyone have pictures? Post anything you have. I may consider creating a new blog or website if I get enough interest and material. I also don't know if there are any copyright issues either as I have not researched any of that yet. In conclusion, I am open to any ideas that anyone may have about what I could do for you, the fans, of WVVX and Scott Loftus. I can't wait to read your comments, so keep them coming. Also, post any recordings or anything else you may have so that all of us can enjoy the memories of the best radio station ever.

Steve,

Thank you for creating this blog. It is great remembering the WVVX days!
There has never been a radio station like it! I hope Scott posts here soon. :)

I have always wondered what happened to Scott Loftus after his short stint at WLUP. I was a fan of WVVX and Y108 from 1989-90 to the mid-nineties or whenver iot came to a close. I have about 40 casettes that I recorded myself and edited together from WVVX and Y108. Amazing stuff. All the tunes, interviews commercials and music promotions. I am on the tapes alot as I was a radio student and metal afficionado not to mention a serious radio prize hog. If anyone has a way fo me to convert these tapes into digital files I would appreciate it and be open to allowing people to make copies. Contact me at swiderskij@yahoo.com or 773-991-6345. Thanks,

I was just a 12 year old when I'd run upstairs at 8pm, get my cassette recorder loaded and tune in to VVX. I kept a handful of cassettes, mostly consisting of songs recorded from the broadcasts, but I've also got some clips of Scott Loftus and Paul Keiser talking. I'm in the process of converting these to mp3s. Anyone interested let me know.

I remember wvvx well and consider it the number 1 radio format in radio metal shows, right up there with house of hair with d schnieder and zrock. back in the day i knew how special wvvx was so i recorded about 60 cassets that i still have. i am trying to find a format to convert them to digital format. any help would be appreciated. the phrase that pays is wvvx, where the imates run the prison. take care. keep up the memories, chicago still has not had a radio station that compares in prime-time. NOTE STEVE JAMES HAS A COMPARITIVE STATION WDCB 90.9FM, MIDNIGHTS SUNDAY ONLY 12AM TO 4AM. IT HAS THE FORMAT OF THE BLAZE, BUT IT NEEDS TO BE PRIME TIME, IF IT WAS, IT BLOW THE LOOP OFF THE AIR.
